No demarcated camp sites, no signage, just someone’s backyard with a porta potty and a table. Half a construction site for a new house on the small lot just construction materials, halfway done. One group had claimed the one flat area and there was no where else for me to camp. I literally looked at it and found a hotel. Stay away. But the issue I had was two fold: one, there were 2 other families camping in the same area and a particular spot within this larger area was not designated to anyone. So mostly it was first come first served — i arrived late and so wasn’t able to get a flat or reasonably sized spot. Two, the ground was not at all even, the dry grass was only cut to 3 inches or so, and plenty of grass burrs. The drive from Yosemite Valley to Fallen tree camp was stunning, so glad we had to travel this way otherwise we would have missed some breath taking scenery. Staying there we felt very safe and it was nice and exclusive with us being the only visitors that night. " } ] }
