The Gympie Music Muster is less than 10 mins down the road and is a annual, 4 day music event that runs every August\. The Windyridge Creekside camp is perfect for families or groups, swimming and fishing in the creek, exploring the various bush walking tracks, relaxing by the open fire, bird watching, setting up the cricket or footy and many other options\. Pet friendly\!\! Cleaning up after your pet is ESSENTIAL and must be secured safely at night\. Fire kindling is available through the forest walk to the creek to get your fire going\. However do not be fooled, private does not mean secluded. We were a couple looking for a private weekend away from the world but this site is actually directly beside the road. It was a little misleading. In saying that though - the swimming hole was completely protected and secluded and made up for the disappointment we felt. Also do NOT use Google maps to get here. It will take you through the state forest and it is a hairy road that leads to a dead end. It does not connect through, despite the map saying so. It took us an extra 1.5hrs to double back and around. Our advice, put in the address for the Amamoor General Store and then follow their instructions from there. The ability to have the firewood waiting on site was a god send also, definitely take up this offer.
