There is a serious picnic table, 2 long lounge chairs, 2 coffee tables and enough lawn chairs to accommodate a good sized group of friends. Ground is level and soft for easy tent setup, and you can park close if you want to attach the tent to a car. We were pleasantly surprised when Alex showed us a propane BBQ Grill with utensils was also in the clearing- so buy some upstate corn & veggies down the road. There is also a hand washing station out front, and a side entrance to small bathroom in the house. We & Alex used masks whenever we were close.\r\n\r\nWalking around Vonsalad farm is beautiful. Flowers, Herbs and Vegetables everywhere (August), with winding cut paths making the property feel even bigger than it is. A family of Hummingbirds visited flowers outside our tent door, rabbits, wild birds and hawks passed through all day. There is also a dog if you're lucky.\r\n\r\nThe river is only a minute's walk through the woods from the tent site- sandals would be a good move. The current was perfect for setting some chairs in and spending the late afternoon. Not deep enough to swim at this bend, but there are lots of swim-able bodies you can drive to.\r\n\r\nWe used this site as our home base and were able to easily drive to longer hikes at Blue Mountain State Park, Onteora Lake, Kaaterskill Wild Forest and others.\r\n\r\nAlex is a great cook! We did the breakfast and it far exceeded expectations. The weather was nice and we had sunrise eggs, bacon, coffee, orange juice, homemade bread, butter, different jams.... it was great.\r\n\r\nWe did this trip for a couple's getaway weekend, but would also work very well for a group of friends.
