For all other groceries there is a convenience store half a mile up a quiet track\.Pets are welcome as long as they are kept under strict control as there are sheep, pigs and hens here\.There is a shower, compost loo, chemical disposal point, barbeque to borrow and a place for fires in the vineyard\.Vineyard and WineryTen Acres Vineyard has over 2000 vines on the south\-facing slope of Winkleigh’s wartime airfield\. Planting started in 2008 and continues today using cuttingsfrom the original vines\. The vine varieties are:Madeleine Angevine – sometimes called the Devon Vine\.Seyval Blanc – \(white\) disease resistant and suitable for sparkling\.Rondo – \(red\) an early harvest variety\.Zalagyongye – \(white\) a Hungarian vine – called Zala for short\!Ten Acres’ wines are fermented and bottled here in our small cellar/winery \(see "A Year at Ten Acres Vineyard"\)\.
