This was our first time using Hipcamp after years of camping at state and national parks.\n\nGreg, the host, was incredibly kind and knowledgeable about the area. I’ve never met a camp host at any of the state or national parks, so it was a pleasant surprise. He stopped by a couple of times each day to check in and see if we needed anything, offering to help however he could. That personal touch really set this trip apart.\n\nThe site itself is beautiful, with river access from Sites 1 and 8. Kayaks are available to use, and the nearby cave is a must-see. The campground also sits directly on the C&O Canal trail, which is perfect for walking or biking.\n\nThe facilities were also well cared for. The campground had four porta-potties, which were clean and well maintained, with plenty of hand sanitizer and high-quality toilet paper.\n\nWe loved the combination of natural beauty, convenience, and the warm hospitality.
