I got a call from David a few days prior to our trip. He said he was “having trouble getting the current tenants to leave” the unit I had booked and that he would move me to another comparable unit. I said ok. When we got there the place was not clean. There was a urine stain on the toilet seat and dirt in the bathtub upstairs. The walls were old and in need of new paint. Several lightbulbs were out. There was no toilet paper in the upstairs bathroom and half a paper towel roll in the kitchen with no refills. No extra trash bags. David and Tsui Man, the owners, were out of state and asked me to contact the property manager Ron for assistance. Ron completely ghosted. He didn’t answer any of my calls or texts. Calls went straight to voicemail. David and Tsui Man were kind and tried to help, but there wasn’t much they could do since they weren’t local. Apparently they couldn’t reach Ron either. I really expected more for the price. Given the circumstances of the pandemic I would have expected extra attention to cleanliness, but it wasn’t even cleaned to minimum expectations. It was nice to be able to fish off the balcony, and there’s a good view from the back and the kids enjoyed the playground, but that’s about all I can say.
