Shottisham Campsite is a small, quiet, family\-friendly campsite situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty \(AONB\) on a largely forgotten peninsula of the beautiful Suffolk coast\.It has 50 spacious pitches \(some with electrical hook\-up\) spread between 5 small fields broken up by native trees and bushes\. There are three small shower blocks powered by solar energy \- the most recent was completed in 2019 – plenty of hot water, dishwashing areas, a sceptic emptying point, waste and recycling bins and a fridge\-freezer\. We allow campfires in firepits which we hire out and sell firewood \(or you can bring your own\)\. Every day at 6pm we feed the animals and collect the eggs – you are welcome to come along and help if you want to\. We sell sausages, bacon and eggs from our own free\-range heritage pigs and poultry, honey from our bees, as well as home\-made preserves from our vegetables and fruit\.We are committed to sustainable, low\-impact living\. The campsite and smallholding are managed in accordance with organic principles and our power is all from renewable sources, much of it produced on site by our photovoltaic array\.Located behind the 19th century school\-house on the edge of the village of Shottisham the campsite is a 2 minute walk from a community\-owned 14th\-century thatched pub as well as the village play area\. We are very close to the river Deben and the sea and there are a number of lovely sandy and shingle beaches nearby\. We are 6 miles from the old market town of Woodbridge with its old tide mill and boat yards \(as well as shops, a small cinema and plenty of places to eat\)\. Also nearby is the Anglo\-Saxon burial site of Sutton Hoo, Rendlesham Forest, the Suffolk Punch Trust, Framlingham and Orford Castles and Snape Maltings\.The Blue Rabbit Cafe is now open on the campsite serving home\-produced, home\-grown, and home\-made breakfasts & brunches\. Open Saturday & Sunday \(Thurs \- Sun in school holidays\)from 8:30am \- 11:30am\.
