I wanted a “rustic“ experience with some modern amenities, which were provided during my stay. the road in was definitely the most rugged road I’ve driven on in a 4x4 but even more so not advisable to drive on this road at night. Note: it’s about a 10 min drive after you enter the gate. \r\nGet ready! Once you’re there, u probably won’t be able to leave. \r\nThey provided drinking water & basic essentials to prepare meals etc. i was hoping to use wood stove but appreciated the ease of propane grill outside. People need to clean the grill after they use it! A screen door on the back entrance could be helpful for bugs. I was pre warned about bears & was extra careful not to leave any food or trash out. But I also surveyed the nearby area to see if there were any signs of wildlife, which were just some deer and small animal tracks, raccoon or squirrels. there were some empty chicken meat packaging left from previous guest outside untouched, so no signs of bear while I was there. Weather was warm outside, the main living area of the cabin stayed cool and had a nice breeze at times. I did not sleep in the bed upstairs because of the humidity, also there were 3 country mice living in this cabin., They were quite cute but very active so I didn’t get much sleep. Im sure this comes with the territory. But I would’ve like to know this since I’m a bit sensitive to rodents. I figured since this was a “glamping experience” it wasn’t worth making it a issue. \r\n\r\nYou can easily explore the area around the cabin on foot but being by myself with no clearly marked trails I didn’t wander off too far. I would recommend this cabin for people who want complete seclusion. Who don’t mind sharing space with little furries. I would suggest coming in the cooler months, bring pocket WiFi & battery operated electronics, books, games or puzzles & bug repellent.
