This is not a tent yurt; it has insulated walls to make for a comfortable stay even in the winter, and it doesn’t get hot inside during the summer until the afternoon. It is easy to cool because of multiple windows for cross ventilation and a clear dome at the top to let hot air out. \n\nThe Swedish composting toilet has no smell if you use it correctly: liquid is separated by sitting, and the fan must be on to help dry solids in the composting bag.\n\nIn the summer, the site is sort of like having the best campsite in a campground with all the hookups right next to you, but without having to share them. Yet it also has some elements of sites that would usually require hiking into. The car camping aspect, at least on busy holiday weekends, is the road can be busy with motorcycles. Many look from the road towards the porch to see the yurt, but it is possible to park your vehicle at the entrance to block their gaze a bit for a little more privacy. In the evening, there is no traffic and it is very quiet. I saw others mention traffic on hurricane mountain road, and while there were cars during the day, that didn’t bother us and once night rolled around it was peaceful as can be with great view of the stars.
