Good 4x4 tracks if you take the left 4x4 track up towards Snake and nip river camp ground, can get rough going to be prepared for serious rock crawling. Directions to the site were clear and we had no issue finding it. The site is cleared of trees (good for bushfire risk) but you are otherwise surrounded by them bringing a deep sense of serenity. We enjoyed relaxing on the large deck overlooking the fire while absorbing the wide view over the Megalong Valley and escarpments looking east. Mornings and late afternoons were the most spectacular as the lighting changed dramatically. Several times we saw a pair of wedge-tailed eagles circling high and many curious kangaroos. The cabin itself is very comfortable and well appointed. BYO deck chairs, picnic rug & camp table were a must so we could enjoy the deck to its full potential. Several out & back walks are possible (including from the road out front which is v. quiet) but the land is steep and at times slippery so decent quality shoes are essential. \nWould love to visit again!
