Out in the open the temps were in the mid-90s, but the site is deep enough in the woods that the canopy cover from the trees makes it feel about 5 degrees cooler. Plus, the creek was just the right temp to really cool off if needed. There are pools deep enough to fully plunge in and slate shelfs shallow enough to just sit on or setup a chair. I was also worried about mosquitos given it was early spring, but I didn't get bit at all the entire 4 day stay. Still plenty of flying bugs that want to get in your face, but they're easily manageable with a camp fire and mosquito coils. Otherwise, I can definitely confirm the site is fully private. You can hike up the stream or into the woods and still be in complete solitude. I'll definitely be returning to Minglewood whenever I need to getaway from it all.
