Sweethope Adventure and Fishing Sweethope is first and foremost a fishery and if we find that after the first season, the coexistence of fishery and outdoor adventure does not work, we will always make decisions in favour of our fishermen and \-women\. All our adventure activities are run by BECKs Training Limited, founded by Tony and Linda Beck in 2006, based at Deneholme since 2009 and now with a sister venue at Sweethope\. BECKs Training Limited has been facilitating adventurous outdoor activities for a long time and has all the typical Health & Safety criteria that met or exceeded industry standards\.AccomodationThere are a number of different ways to stay close to Sweethope and experience all there is to offer \- at your own pace\. Deneholme consists of the main house which provides exclusive, catered group accommodation for up to 40 people in 11 bedrooms, half of them ensuite\. There are 5 acres of woodlands and gardens, decking areas, outside bonfire pit and Allendale village is only a short 5 minute walk away\. Then there is the annex flat, offering self catering accommodation for 2 people \(plus children\) in a bedroom, living room, small kitchen and bathroom\. Sweethope Crofts are perched right on the shore of a beautiful lake known as Sweethope Lough, extensively renowned for its trout and fly fishing, nestles this pair of "single storey crofts", which provide charming self catering holiday cottages in an idyllic setting\. Built with traditional Northumbrian stone this pair of cottages offers a truly rural hideaway with a unique view\. Surrounded by miles of open countryside and woodland the properties are positioned on the exclusive Ray Demesne Estate\. Call 01228 406721 for details / booking\.Sweethope Lough Caravan Park \(certified location\)There are 4 hard stands for caravans, with water supply and electric point for each caravan, currently there are no shower or toilet facilities, but once the renovation project is complete, those facilities will be available\. Views are stunning, whatever the weather across the loughs\. Call 01830 540349 for details / booking\. Facilitieshe current stone outbuildings opposite the main Lough House will be converted this spring into a reception room with tackling shop \(double doors on the left\)\. Showers & ToiletsThe two other doors shown above will be leading to a ladies' and gents shower and changing rooms with toilets\. A door leading in from the right hand side is leading into a shower and toilet for wheelchair users\. The building project is aimed to be completed by the end of May 2013\. The Lough HouseThe main building has downstairs facilities to be used by fishermen and other groups enjoying Sweethope\. They consist of a toilet and drying room, a small kitchen a cozy dining room with aga and large tables\. The best feature however is the lounge with three windows overlooking the loughs on three sides with a log fire and comfy chairs making it a beautiful space to unwind\. There is just nothing like relaxing and warming up in front of an open log fire with a hot drink or beverage after a day on the water\!Fishing and WatersportsIt is common knowledge that fishing, a tranquil, quiet and peaceful activity does not go well with splashing paddles, loud laughter, big groups of children and young people\.We, at Sweethope Adventure believe that we can create an environment were both can co\-exist happily alongside each other\.HOW?All adventure activities, such as canoeing, raft building, kayaking and activities along the lake shores such as archery, bush craft and orienteering will be restricted to certain areas away from any fishermen \- be it on the bank or on the water\. Groups will always be briefed on keeping noise levels down and respecting the fishing men and women in their need for quietness\. HOWEVER:Sweethope Adventure will be operating a continuously updated calendar system which is available to everyone in three locations\. This calender will identify the days when there are group bookings for outdoor activities at Sweethope, stating the size of the group, their arrival & departure time as well as the activities they will be doing exactly in which location \(i\.e\. on the top lake only or in the woodland north of the top lake etc\)\. The calendar will be available:Via telephone enquiry to our office at Deneholme \(01434 618579\) or mobile \(07791707097\)On a notice board at SweethopeThe number of activity days at Sweethope will depend on demand, but is estimated to not be more than 2 days per week, leaving plenty of days for fishing only, undisturbed by any other groups using facilities and the loughs\. TransportationWe can offer to pick your group up and drop them off again\. We have a 14 passenger minibus and a 6 passenger VW people carrier, however we can hire in further buses if required\.
