We were looking for a space in Santa Fe National Forest Campgrounds but it was inpossible to find anything on this Balloon Fiesta weekend. How serendipitous, because we ended up in Little Canyon which was a great experience. The moment we entered the property we were greeted and we felt at home.\r\nJesse and his family were very inviting and excellent hosts all around. Quiet, private, intimate, very safe, surrounded by nature, and such beautiful views of mountains. A high desert oasis to relax in, yet so close to Santa Fe. In the evening, Jesse and his son offered a fire ring and dry wood for a small campfire which we enjoyed under a beautiful starry sky. We saw two hot air balloons in the morning and so many birds on the property, including a red tail hawk. A few steps behind the campsite, by the corral, we saw fresh coyote tracks on the mud of little Galisteo Creek. This site exceeded our expectations. It is wild and beautiful, perfect for boondocking. We wish we could have spent another night! We were gifted a dozen fresh eggs. Thank you! What an unforgettable experience. Since we have a new little camping trailer, we feel Hipcamp is a great way to relax away from the crowds.
