> Human version: http://ssr-app-zpimxgrglq-uc.a.run.app/listings/campgrounds/hook-farm-camping-and-caravan-park-lyme-regis-dorset

Only 1 mile from the beautiful English seaside town of Lyme Regis, Hook Farm has over 5 acres of camping space and a small number of static caravans available for hire\. Tucked away in a valley, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and situated away from the main roads, Hook Farm is a hidden gem\. It borders the village of Uplyme on one side and the rolling Devon countryside on the other\. The village pub, serving good food and local ale, is only 400 yards away as is the Post Office and General Store for your newspaper and general supplies\.The Coastal Footpath is accessed from the stile on the border of the park and the rambling path along the riverside down to Lyme Regis is the perfect distance to work up an appetite for one of the town's many tempting hostelries\!All\-in\-all the perfect base for your holiday in the South\-West\.CampingWe have over 5 acres of camping space available in 2 fields\. The park commands superb views of the beautiful Lym Valley and whilst the overall terrain is sloping the vast majority of pitches are on flat or terraced land\. Shelter is provided by the hedges bordering the park and by the mature and growing trees dotted throughout the site\. The site is located away from major roads and so retains it's peaceful, rural atmosphere\. Many of our regular campers enjoy nothing more than to sit out, read the paper and savour the peace and quiet\. The site has a small climbing frame and swings for the children and plenty of parking for boats and trailers\. Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a short lead whilst on the park and under control at all times\. For their exercise we have a dog walking area in the pleasant surroundings of our cider orchard\. Sorry, but we do not accept Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Rottweilers, Dobermans and Bullmastiffs\. Many of the pitches have electric hook\-up points\. Electric sockets and lights are available for hire but should be booked in advance\. Toilet and washroom facilities are provided by 2 modern, purpose built blocks \(one was completed in 2000 the other in 2003\) and include laundry and drying facilities\. Hairdryers are available in both Men's and Ladies sections and operate on a 20p coin meter\. To avoid excessive queing, and with conservation of water in mind, our showers also operate on a 20p coin meter \- which provides four and a half minutes \(we believe thet to be a good length of time for a shower\)\. We have plenty of 20p pieces so no need to stock up before you arrive\. Please note: whilst we do have disabled washroom facilities we believe our park is not appropriate for disabled campers due to its sloping terrain and sloping access points\. Please see below for our full list of Terms and Conditions\.Our on\-site shop sells freshly baked croissants and pastries most mornings and we also stock basic food requirements, drinks and camping essentials\. There is a local information section to provide you with details on events and attractions\. Should our shop be closed for any reason there is a Village Store/Newsagent only 400 yards away which is open 7 days a week and is very well stocked\. For additional convenience we provide freezers \(free of charge\) to re\-freeze your ice packs\.Holiday HomesIn an area separate from the camping fields, we have a small number of static caravans for hire offering accommodation for up to five people\. They are all modern caravans \(under 4 years old\), double glazing throughout and with an outside decking area for those warm summer evenings\.Each caravan has a lounge/dining area, galley kitchen, shower and toilet, double\-bedded room and a twin bedded room \(the lounge seating can also be used as two short single beds\)\. They are equipped with everything you need for a comfortable self\-catering holiday including; • double glazing • heaters in all rooms • duvets and pillows • Freeview digital colour TV, • gas cooker/hob • fridge • kettle, toaster and microwave\. All you need to bring are bed sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, towels and a tea towel\.The Local AreaBritain's beautiful South\-West is the perfect place to take a relaxing hassle free holiday\. Lyme RegisLyme Regis is a beautiful old seaside town famous for the Cobb harbour and setting for the French Lieutenant's woman\. Just 1\.5 miles away, Hook Farm is the closest campsite to Lyme's sandy beach and a perfect base from which to explore the town's shops and restaurants and wander the surrounding countryside\. www\.lymeregis\.org Fossil HuntingLyme Regis has also found fame as the birthplace of Mary Anning and attracts thousands of visitors each year to search for fossils on the local beaches\. In fact the 95 mile stretch of coastline from Exmouth in Devon to Swanage in Dorset has been awarded World Heritage status, now known as "The Jurassic Coast", and there is no better place than the beaches in and around Lyme Regis to see the 185 million year old rock formations and fossils\. Don't miss this fantastic website for more information www\.jurassiccoast\.com WalkingWe are also a stop on the world\-renowned South West Costal Path and there are numerous beautiful local walks\.DirectionsWe are located on the South coast on the Devon/Dorset border\.If you are driving a motorhome or towing a caravan we strongly advise that you do not o use Sat' Nav' as it often leads you down the back lanes of Lyme Regis which are very narrow and have limited passing places\. We are very easy to find using the following instructions: From London / South EastTake the M3 South and leave at junction 8 \(A303\) after Basingstoke\.
