Welcome to our idyllic 10\-acre historic farmstead in rural Johnson County, Iowa, about 8 miles west of Iowa City\. We are a bookish, quiet couple with an 8\-year\-old daughter, 2 curious llamas named Jake and Elwood, 4 free\-range chickens \(named after the Golden Girls\), 2 twin babydoll sheep \(Phillip and Richard\), and 5 orange barn cats\. In June and July, we open our farm to the public for U\-pick organic blueberries\. Our 10 acres is a remnant oak savanna—a lightly forested grassland, where oaks are the dominant trees\. As you'll see when you visit, the enormous bur oak trees are the stars of this place\!
