Cresting the small hill we were immediately struck by how the entire valley spread out just below camp. The view was amazing and it was fun to watch the towns below's lights slowly come to life at dark. This is a great place for launching into the park or just hiking onto the BLM land. Great stargazing including the International Space Station zipping by. Used the hot tub under the coal-black sky. While we didn't find a tortoise, we watched owls hunting, a raptor soaring, desert rodents trying not to be eaten and a sleepy Mohave rattler in the shade on an early morning hike. This camp is a great combination of off road & fully modern.
