We feel certain you will not be disappointed with our beautiful river canyon\. Our property is situated right on the middle fork cosumnes river\. We have 2 sleeping cabins and several tent sites \(can be rented separately\)\. The cabins offer a rustic/minimalist type vibe \- bring your own bedding/pillows to sleep on the comfy futon\. A table and chairs are provided for the cabins\. Tent sites each have a wood table \(bring your camp chairs\) and a fire pit when the season is open for burning\. The swimming is awesome and the stars at night will put you into a state of awe\! In the area there are many family owned wineries in the area, most of them offering free tasting\! It’s a short drive to Tahoe and the Marshall gold discovery site as well as the historic hangtown Placerville\. We are happy to make suggestions for local hiking areas, like the Devil's Slide "Gorge" only a 15 minute drive but like a trip to mini Yosemite\. The Caldor Fire was VERY close to our property and a back burn was initiated nearby the cabins \(litererally 200' away\!\)\. It is still as beautiful as ever but please know there are lots of slash piles\. Falling trees and burned up stump holes are also a risk and it is presumed campers will be cautious and use at their own risk\. We ask campers to use our property only for land use and river access, NO up or down river access is permitted AT ALL\. Our site #9 was far enough from the other sites to feel private and quiet. Despite it being a walk in site, it was a short way to our area from our parking spot and having a wagon was very helpful. Our site had a picnic table and was surrounded by trees which made it a nice private site. There are no showers but there are bathrooms that are well kept and stocked with toilet paper. The water faucet came in handy for use to get water for washing our dishes or hands. Swimming in the river was the best! Clear cold water with shallow and deep areas perfect for our family to swim and play in. The best part is how close our site was to the river. My recommendations are to bring a wagon if you are staying on this site to help minimize trips to your car, lights for your site as it gets DARK in this area, and reminder to be cautious if you come with children as we did see many wild animals including coyotes.\n\nThe owner has a guard dog that is off leash to help keep wild animals away. She checked in with us on our second night and was very kind and helpful with any questions we had and they do live on the property so easily accessible. I highly recommend this place and would love to return again with our family. We did notice that inside the cabin (number 1) was too warm during certain times in the day. It is summer so the cabin would absorb the heat during the daytime until nighttime. Temperatures would cool down closer to dawn so good thing we brought an extra blanket and night time socks. Bring an electric fan or if this can be provided by the host, it would help on those hot days/nights. A fireplace is provided for use but I imagine this would be amazing during winter or spring. The cabin also looked dated on the inside. The ceiling was peeling off at certain parts so repairs would help as part of safety and aesthetics. I loved how we went to the river before noon and had it all to ourselves. The people staying at the tent sites and next door in cabin (number 2) were also respectful and friendly. It was cool to see the host with her kids. They were doing chores such as feeding the chickens and ducks. We would definitely come back at a different or the same season with some family or friends.
