I did wonder if it was a little too busy but we were camping on a weekend during the school holidays. It made the facilities quite busy. I’m not a fan of camp where ever you like especially when it’s that busy. A group made a circle of tents and played music and were shouting and balling long past the suggested curfew, perhaps they’d have done this anyway but this just facilitated it. Everything else was perfect, great location just a short walk to Bolton Abbey. I would recommend it but perhaps not when it’s likely to be that busy. Sadly, on arrival to Catgill Farm, there had been a problem with Hipcamps system communicating with their system and not only was the booking not in their system, there were no electric pitches available. \nCatgill farm were very apologetic and we did resolve the issue as it transpired that there were electric pitches available after the first night, so a bit of a move about on day 2 and we were fine.\n\nCatgill is advertised as a family site, and it definitely is! Non electric pitches are not allocated so you can pitch with friends/family if wanted. As much as I wouldn't book their again during school holidays, it was lovely to see children being children and so many families enjoying spending time together.\n\nThat said, during quieter times, I will 100% be booking again, it is a lovely site with every facility you could want - a big washing up area with microwave, kettle and multiple fridge/freezers is a massive bonus and the fresh made pizzas on Fri and sat nights are incredible- especially after a long days walk!\nBeautiful views and so many sounds of nature, with very little external noise (other than other campers having fun).\nStrict quiet time - which is enforced is a lovely, and welcome bonus!" }, { "@type": "Review", "author": { "@type": "Person", "name": "Kevin D." }, "datePublished": "June 14, 2024", "reviewBody": "Brilliant stay , camp site has everything you need.
