There are two campsites, Camp Crudine Kitchen and Camp Crudine Riverside\. When you make your booking whether for 2 people or a group of family and friends the chosen campsite is all yours for the length of your stay\. If you need supplies Sofala is just 8 km away, drop in and explore the town\. Hill End is 28 km which is another Historic town to explore\. Camp Crudine is great for kids and adults alike to have a go at panning for gold or try out the metal detector\. All findings must be returned to the host, lol\. Campfires must comply with the local fire restrictions and guideline and must be contained in the fire pits provided\. Bonfires are not permitted at any time\. We recommend campers bring their own firewood as campers are requested to source only small amounts of firewood along the riverbank\. Under no circumstances are trees to be cut down\. Firewood is available at the Sofala General Store\. Campers are required to bring everything they need and take all rubbish when leaving\. Dogs are welcome but they must be supervised and under control at all times\. It felt like our own piece of heaven and the kids especially really appreciated the exclusivity of the river to swim and splash. \n\nGetting there was very easy in the 4WD (you’ll need low gear for a small bit of it) and the signage is great too. The camp area is flat and grassy so it was easy to pitch our tents - lots of space to pull the awning out from the car too which was awesome. Just be cautious of the Thistle that’s around some parts when exploring as they’re pretty spikey - but that definitely doesn’t detract from the experience. \n\nThe river and rocky terrain is gorgeous. The sounds, the air, the stars…my family (and our dog) and I loved everything about this place and we’ll definitely be back.
